In the forest

Our first outing in Pennsylvania was a trip to a nearby state park.  It was reminiscent of Rainier National Park last summer, though not quite as lush... and of course there were no mountains.  It is so wonderful to take three grumpy children, sick of being cooped up in hotels, into the woods and watch them literally mellow out before your eyes.  I am always amazed at the power of nature to nourish us.

 

 



 
 





 

 







 
 




(We ran into quite the downpour the last 15 minutes of our walk, hence the muddy, soaked children in the last pictures.)

P.S. This blog is going to be more picture and general family outing-oriented since we now live several thousand miles away from all our relatives.  Gotta keep everyone up to date!

It looks beautiful! I love the trees growing over the rocks. The roots draping down seem very magical!

Great blog. What county in PA did you move to? Maybe your close enough to come visit our farm. We are a homeschooling family that likes to kayak, hike and campout when we get to leave the farm. We do a Charlotte Mason meets Montessori and shakes hands with Waldorf kind of homeschool.
