Hey, mom, aren't you jealous?

My mom is in Europe right now touring with her choir. Which means she had to miss Memorial Day with us. Now, which would you rather do? Spend the day in London? Or spend the day in Tooele County? Cause, you know, driving 50 miles one way on a dirt road is SO much more exciting than touring the British Museum.

50 miles one way on a dirt road is not an exaggeration. We went to the Dugway Geode Beds looking for, naturally, geodes. It was fun--but I'd still take Europe any day! Here are the highlights:

Within five minutes of getting out of the car, the kids found a horned toad.

This photo brings new meaning to the phrase "middle of nowhere".

Sariah, Dallin, and cousins I and B exploring.

At the actual geode beds--dirt, dirt, and more dirt. Sariah with Cousin B.

Dallin and Cousin E pounding geodes open.

The second of two flat tires on this trip, one for us and one for Uncle V. Hmmm, maybe we all were going a little too fast on those dirt roads?

Dallin counting up his loot.

They are pretty darn cool. (Geodes are filled with crystals.)
