on a blustery day...
when the kids need to burn off some energy (which they do in the form of wrestling--ok, fighting) and Dad's been gone and Mom's getting cranky?
Why, you make kites, of course!
And fly them in the house because there's no wind, only snow.
And then you have a great time chopping walnuts so Daddy can make a double batch of granola. (At least, you have a great time until you start arguing over who has more nuts than who, and who needs to steal nuts off of whose cutting board, and who should not put their fingers right in the path of an oncoming, very sharp knife. But of course, the picture doesn't show that part.)
All in all, it was a lovely, family sort of blustery day.
