Remember my post about being the weird mom? The mom who wondered why there was so much acceptance and enouragement of violent play in young boys? Well, apparently you can't even escape it in school.
This is the prize that Dallin saved up his hard-earned Fish Bucks for. Fish Bucks are the rewards the kids earn each day for good behavior. There are big and little prizes the kids can get, and Dallin had told us he was saving his for something really cool. In fact, nobody else in his class was able to save enough Fish Bucks to get this. Yeah, it's a sword. A tacky dollar-store-plastic cheap sword that even makes realistic noises when you push a button. It's huge! And as you can tell, Dallin is ecstatic to have it. (Though admittedly, part of the look on his face is due to the fact that he has to go potty really really bad because he's been holding it all day at school.)
