Everything happens for a reason, right?
My debit card has been missing for about a month. Do you know what a pain it is to buy gas without a debit card? To actually have to walk into the building and back out?
I blamed it on Sariah. She is into my purse constantly (and everything else in the house, but that's another post for another day). I've turned the house upside down several times in the past few weeks looking for that danged debit card. In the process, I found my Costco card which has been missing for at least four months, hidden deep inside of the chair in our living room right where Sariah stashed it.
So I decided that one reason my debit card was missing was so that I could find my Costco card.
Today James searched the chair again and found our missing flexible spending card, also stashed there by Sariah. (We just got the replacement card in the mail a few days ago...)
My brother V and nephew E came over today and raked over every inch of my living room looking for that debit card. I told E I would pay him $20 if he would find it for me. They even took the vent covers off. No debit card. Anywhere!
I finally decided I would have to call the bank and go through the process of getting a new card.
Then, this afternoon, I set off to Salt Lake to attend my friend S's blessingway. As part of that, I was supposed to take two beads. Yesterday I had bought the beads and very carefully placed in my purse, which I very carefully put on a very high shelf in the coat closet. And yet as I got ready to go, those beads weren't anywhere to be found! I could NOT believe it! And my first thought was, "Sariah!!!!!" Somehow, she must have gotten into my purse. I searched my coat and pants pockets from the day before without finding the beads. Finally, I looked in my purse again. Even though I knew I had not put the beads there, I looked in a small, never-used pocket on the outside of my purse. Lo and behold--to my shock, there was my long-lost debit card! All this time I'd been blaming Sariah for losing it, and it was in my very own purse. (Now, I'm still thinking maybe she was the one who stashed it in that pocket....)
And two seconds later, I found the beads right where I had left them in the main part of my purse. I seriously think they got lost JUST so I could find that card!
I'm convinced everything happens for a reason.
