The adorable, soft Waldorf doll that took Mommy many hours to make? Or the dirty, ratty, plastic hand-me-down dolly that you found buried in a destined-for-DI bag deep in the basement?
Believe it or not, Sariah ruined my punch line! She had been dragging around the hand-me-down baby for several days, and the two of them were practically inseparable. Whilst the clean, oh-so-cute handmade-by-Mommy doll lay buried in the toy basket, long since forgotten.
But as soon as she saw me put the two dolls side-by-side for a picture, she came and picked up "my" doll and began to gently hold and carry it.
For an hour or so.
And then she went back to her favorite, with whom she is currently contentedly asleep as we speak. I can't even sneak it into the DI bag for fear she'll wake up and freak out.
But at least I caught this precious picture of her snuggling Mommy's doll and Grandma's doll.
