A hike

The one thing Dallin most wanted to do on this trip was to hike to the top of a mountain. A few weeks ago at the Father's and Son's outing for our ward, he and Daddy climbed a mountain (or so he tells me--in reality, it was a hill, and probably not a very large one at that). Anyway, his goal for our week in Colorado was to go on a hike. I was trying to come up with a good place to hike that wouldn't be too strenous (we're out of shape!) and that would have beautiful scenery.
The day of the hike, we woke to up snow! Obviously, we weren't going to go too far on this hike, especially with the cold, wind, and threat of thunderstorms. So we set off on this nice walking trail near our condo in Snowmass. Dallin was sorely disappointed! As soon as he saw that the trail was paved, he knew this hike was NOT the real thing. I tried to convince him that we were hiking up a mountain, since we were on the side of a mountain. No dice. He wanted to go to the top of any of the peaks he could see all around us. He was not accepting of the answer that those hikes were just too difficult for our little family.

RiRi doing what she loves to do most--pick "flawrs".

You can tell by Dallin's body language that he is not entirely happy to be on this walk.
