The road leading up to the Maroon Bells. This was one place we wanted to go, but didn't get to because the wilderness area is not open to hikers for another few weeks. Apparently, the Maroon Bells are twin peaks that are considered to be the most photographed peaks in the United States.

Other things we had to pass on: going on a mine tour (no children under age 5 allowed), riding a gondola up Aspen Mountain (pricey, plus the weather was not too great), and going to the rodeo in Snowmass (it starts next week).

This is where we stayed. It's always interesting to rent a condo instead of going to a well-known hotel. The price was good, and there was nothing terrible about the accomodations, but whoever decorated our unit needed some serious help that they didn't get. It was a combo of southwestern and mountain decor. Each of those in and of themselves are not bad, but to put them together, along with features that don't fit either, like posters from famous European artists, makes for one interesting look.
