We held a belated Easter egg hunt with my family since my brother was visiting from out of state this weekend with his daughter. We hosted the entire family--including 11 cousins--at our house for the event. I was hard-pressed to get a picture of D at all--I had to sneak around with the camera button held half-way down and hope to get a smile out of him when he was least expecting it. But I outsmarted him a few times! S was totally adorable and figured out what to do instantly. I thought being so little that the older kids would pretty much run her over as far as collecting eggs, but she found herself a nice, lucrative spot right and beginning where all she had to do was stand in one place and turn around and the eggs seemed to just call out to her. She also seemed to remember the routine from Easter Day: the word "eggs!" was soon followed by the word: "can-ee!"
It was one cold day! Although it didn't rain or snow as predicted, and wind was blowing and it was VERY chilly. The kids didn't seem to mind one bit, of course! We moms let the dads go out with the kids, while we stayed in where it was nice and toasty.
