Jesus wants me for a Sunbeam!

My little girl is a Sunbeam!  She's had mixed feelings about the coming of this day.  Initially she was really excited about being going to Primary until she found that that she couldn't go to Primary and nursery.  Eventually she accepted--and looked forward to--the transition.  She was very excited the last couple of weeks to get to come with her nursery class to Primary for singing time.

So this morning when she woke up, I cheerily said, "Hi, Sunbeam girl!"  And she replied, "I think I want to still be a nursery girl."  So we had a little chat.  But she wasn't convinced.  Her argument:  "But I really just think I need to be a little bit older."

In the end, she did just fine.  I got to spy because I was the substitute music leader today.  She's not shy, that's for sure.  She made darn certain the Primary president knew each time she didn't get called on to answer a question, hold a prop, or generally be noticed.  (She got noticed, alright.  It was kind of impossible not to notice her.)

They brought the little Sunbeams up to the front and had the older children sing "Jesus Wants Me For a Sunbeam" to them.  I'm telling you, it is not fair to have the Mommy of one of those Sunbeams be the one to lead that song!  Let's just say I got a little bit emotional.
